Don't Miss Windsor's Stilt Guys On Dragons' Den October 24, 2012

STILT GUYS ON DRAGONS DEN OCTOBER 24, 2012

EVERY STEP IS AN ADVENTURE!

The Stilt Guys (Mark Lefebvre and Kyle Sipkens) can say that they walked tall onto the popular CBC television series “Dragons Den”. What they can’t talk about is whether or not they cut a deal with any of the show’s five successful entrepreneurs.
“We signed a non-disclosure agreement prohibiting us from revealing the outcome of our pitch. Not even my mom knows what went down!” explains Lefebvre who then goes on to leak tidbits about the experience of appearing on Canada’s most watched non-scripted series. “We had a blast! They fired incredibly good questions at us and we gave it our best shot. Their camera phones were out from the moment we entered and the studio was electric.”

“The producers told us we were very relaxed and well prepared,” adds Sipkens “We spent close to an hour in the studio with the dragons so for us it was the best business consultation ever!”
When asked about Kevin O’Leary the supposed ‘tough guy’ on the panel Kyle’s response is typical of the Stilt Guys’ brand of cheeky humour. “He’s REALLY short!” Additionally “We brought a few surprises and something for Kevin in particular, but we wanted to have fun with him and not be insulting. You’ll just have to tune in to see what the big man gets ‘up’ to.”
Speaking of tuning in - a viewing party has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 starting at 7pm at the Walkerville Brewery, 525 Argyle Road courtesy of WEtech Alliance. Vice-president Yvonne Pilon welcomes media, friends and the entrepreneurial community to “Come out and enjoy the show, meet the new Stilt Guys, and hear about future plans as they get set to celebrate their 10th season in 2013.”

"National Vet Tech Week" October 14 to 20, 2012

I received this from Amanda Garant, R.V.T. and owner of Amanda's Pet Sitting Services http://amandaspetsitting.vpweb.ca  and wanted to pass it on ..

Amanda's Pet Sitting is a 2012 Biz X award nominee and it is her dedication to the industry that earns her this honour..

Read up on what is going on during the week of Oct. 14 to 20 and hopefully you can support her efforts!

In Amanda's words, "Registered Veterinary Technicians play such an important role in the health and well being of all our furry friends. They assist veterinarians in surgery rooms, they are the staff behind the scenes in vet clinics who take care of x-rays and blood work, some work at medical laboratories, on farms, for the pharmaceutical pet divisions, as teachers, groomers or, like myself, as a professional pet sitter and dog walker. We posses skills from hospital management to animal nursing and are the voice of the animals we help. All RVT's have had to pass a provincial exam and belong to a professional association called the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians ( OAVT). To keep our status we must complete 'continuing education' similar to most other medical professions. This year National Vet Tech Week is from October 14 -20. During this week, RVT's are encouraged to celebrate by educating the public on the roles we play in the workforce and to volunteer our time where we can. I decided to do both! I have shed light on the amazing RVT's out there AND I will be volunteering at the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society.  If you know of any RVT's working hard in your community, make sure you give them a smile and say thank you for their compassion and devotion."

(Kingsville, ON) – Mayor Nelson Santos and the members of Kingsville Town Council would like to invite you to attend a FREE Community Barbeque on Thursday October 4 from 5pm-8pm at Lakeside Park.   The Town of Kingsville is embarking on the development of a Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan that will identify community needs and establish strategies and recommendations for the program and facility needs for the next 10 years and beyond.
